The usage within an application is based on standardized interfaces like PC/SC, OCF (Open Card Framework), or CT-API. The USB CCID support makes the integration in an existing system the easiest ever by connecting host and smart card reader without the need of additional drivers.

High-Speed
Based on revolutionary chip technology, jointly developed with Atmel, the class 2 PIN pad device CardMan® 3621 supports reader-to-card data transmission rates of up to 420 kbits per second, exceeding the performance of other smart card readers.

Standards
Because the CardMan® 3621 complies with all relevant industry standards (ISO 7816, EMV (Europay, Mastercard, Visa) 2000, Microsoft® WHQL, USB CCID, PC/SC, HBCI (Home Banking Computer Interface), the PC-2001 Specification and many more. It is open for any smart card on any computer for any application. The PIN pad reader is under evaluation for Common Criteria EAL 3+ certification.

Security-Features
The CardMan® 3621 allows for Secured PIN Entry (SPE) with its 16-key integrated keypad. The content on the smart card is protected by a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to prevent unauthorized copying or use of the information stored on the card. The sensible data is neither stored on the PC nor communicated via insecure PC-to-reader connection but remains only on the card.

The CardMan 5321 is a dual-interface PC-linked reader that will read/write to both a 13.56 MHz RFID contactless smart card and virtually any contact smart card. The dual interface feature economically supports end-user environments where both contact and contactless smart card technology may be in use.

The CardMan 5321 allows users to experience the convenience, speed, and security of contactless technology for applications including log-on to Windows®, networks, websites, and applications or the secure storage of user names, passwords, and personal information. The use of contactless smart card technology for PC-linked applications is limited only to your imagination!

The CardMan 5321 is based on a 13.56 MHz contactless smart card RFID interface that is compliant with ISO specifications 14443 A and B and 15693.
